We are in full swing at Teays Valley after a busy summer hiring new staff members. Nearly 100 staff members joined Viking Nation this year in a variety of roles including teachers, custodians, nurses, bus drivers, educational aides, cafeteria staff and administrators. Golden Sound of the Vikings
Congratulations to the TVHS Golden Sound of the Vikings marching band. They are State bound once again!
At the first competition of the season, they were awarded 1st Place in Class A, Best Overall Visual Effect, Superior Rating and qualified for the State competition.
Viking Hero Award
Congratulations to East educational aide Stephanie Lysinger. She was recognized for her quick thinking and swift action to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a student who was choking during lunch. We are deeply grateful for her immediate and remarkable response.
Redistricting Meetings
All TV families, community members and staff members are invited and encouraged to attend TV Redistricting Meetings, which will be led by Cropper GIS, a company specializing in school redistricting. To accommodate continued growth and growing enrollment numbers, redistricting will take place for the 2025-2026 school year. The first meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, September 18.

*TV West Middle School is at 98% capacity
*The Class of 2027 is the largest class with 386 students
*To accommodate the growing enrollment numbers, 4 modular classrooms have been added to S Bloomfield and 2 at Walnut
Elementary Parent Night
All elementary families are invited to attend the TV Elementary Parent Night on Monday, September 23, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the TVHS auditorium.
Guest author Julia Cook will be sharing her books and tips for fostering strong social and mental skills necessary for building healthy relationships at home and school.
After a brief presentation, students in attendance will go to the HS library for a separate lesson while parents/guardians remain in the auditorium for a presentation.
